ppcShiesen is a fun and challenging tile removal game for the Pocket PC. To win ppcShisen you simply remove matching tiles 1 pair at a time. Each time you remove a pair you get 10 points added to your score.
ppcShiesen is similar to Mahjongg. You start with a square table with tiles with different pictures. You have to match them in pairs and the game ends when there is no tile left in the table.
ppcShisen has 4 different layouts the increase in difficulty:
Easy 12x6 Medium 12x8 Hard 12x10 Oh Boy 12x12

ppcShiesen has different rules than Mahjongg. You remove tiles of with the same image if you can connect them using at most three horizontal or vertical (but not diagonal) connected lines. The lines can only be drawn alongside the bounds of the board and through empty spaces left by previously removed tiles, but not through any existing tiles.
| Simply select the first tile to be removed and it will be highlighted with a yellow rectangle. |
| Next, select the second tile to be removed. If the tiles have the same image and can be connected by 3 or less line segments both tiles will be highlighted with yellow rectangles and the connecting path will be shown with yellow lines. |
| If all goes well you'll now have 2 empty spaces on the board and 10 points added to your score! |
Sometimes it's difficult to see the moves available. Click here to see an example.
The game is over when either all of the tiles have been remove (You won!!!) or there are no moves left. Your score is only kept for completed games. Once you have successfully removed all of the tiles and your score qualifies for insertion in the high score list you will be able to enter your name along with your score, game level and time taken into the high score screen for all to see!
Click here to see some example High Scores (I expect you to beat them!)
| Here's a
quick example of the connections that could be made in one play. Any of the
7's could be removed following the 3 line rule.
The only restriction is the 7 with the cyan (light blue) border. This can only be removed by the magenta (light purple) bordered 7 because lines cannot cross spaces already occupied by tiles.
| The High Scores panel displays the top high scores. Your name, score, level and time taken to play that game are displayed. The list is sorted based on score and elapsed time. |
There are
a number of options you can select during the game. If you change the Game
Level you will lose your current score and a new game will be created to
meet the new tile dimensions. Changing the Sound or Alpha Tile Set will
break the current game.
